Don't squeeze into overcrowded Dorm rooms.
Don't queue up for the shower or toilet every morning.
Don't lose your valuables because there are no lockers.
Don't pay extra for weekends or holidays...

This is the real hostel experience.
A real hostel run by real travellers.
Not just another Ukrainian apartment stacked with beds and calling itself a hostel.

Odessa is the Pearl of the Black Sea, a fantastic port city of holiday, history, and cosmopolitan culture.

....and we are easy to find located just opposite the main shopping boulevard of the city and next to one of the largest landmarks in the city, the Spaso-Preobrazhenskij cathedral on Sobornaya Square.
Many buses stop directly on the Square.

Opposite the Square is Deribasovskaya Street with its beautiful city gardens, restaurants, bars, the Europa shopping mall, (& the ubiquitous McDonalds), which in turn leads to the port, the funicular railway, the Opera House, and the famous Potemkin Stairs.

We have a bakery across the street, two 24 hour supermarkets on our block currency exchanges, banks, ATM's, cafes, bars, and restaurants all in our street...and the best sharma in Odessa just around the corner open 24 hours!

Our hostel consists of a large and airy 12 bed Dorm with a small private balcony overlooking the cobbled street; and another large 10 bed Dorm; and 2 Private Double Rooms.
There are Free Security Lockers for every guest....
A Common Room with sofas, TV, and a Book-Swap Library.
3 shower stalls, and 3 toilets.
A large dining or entertaining area and a fully equipped kitchen where guests can prepare their own food.

We have no Curfew or Lockout.
Security coded entry means our guests can come and go as they please
Your hosts live on site to deal immediately with your questions and needs.

There are hostel computers available with Skype, headphones, and a webcam for you to use and a free, fast WiFi internet connection if you have your own laptop/PDA.

And of course:

- We supply free linens and towels as standard
- We supply free City Guides and Maps
- We offer free tea & coffee
- There is a daily laundry service available
- In the interests of Health and Safety we maintain Fire and First Aid equipment on the premises.

In an effort to be clear, please understand that this is a traditional Backpacker and Traveler hostel.
We cater predominantly to independent travelers and our operation is geared towards creating an experience the dedicated traveler appreciates.
We provide lots of facilities such as showers and toilets, and a large fully equipped cooking kitchen with 2 fridges, gas cooktop, stove, & microwave.

There is no curfew however there is a mandated Quiet Time after midnight when the kitchen area is closed.
This is to encourage those who want to party to go out and enjoy everything which Odessa has to offer while allowing those who wish to sleep the opportunity to do so.

These simple rules ensure that every guest is respected,
If respecting others isn't on your agenda then this probably isn't the right hostel for you.

We offer a huge amount of first hand travel knowledge about Ukraine and the Crimea, Turkey, Georgia, Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia.
We can help you with Black Sea ferry bookings.
All Bus & Train timetables
A dedicated Taxi Service for the Airport or Ferry Port

We can help direct you to:
Walking Tours of Odessa
Catacombs Tours
Tours of nearby Belgorod Dnestrovsky Fortress

(Please note the street name can referred to as either Koblevska or Koblevskaya)

So we are on Koblevska Street near the Sobornaya Square (The Cathedral Square).

There are two '42' signs.
Look for the WHITE coloured 42 sign and enter the door to the LEFT of it which is brown in colour
There is a Hostelworld decal on the door...PLEASE REFER TO PICTURE

The entrance from the street is always open.

The directions below should help you to get to the main square of Odessa- SOBORNAYA PLOSHCHAD (the Cathedral), which is located right next to our hostel. Once you find yourself on Sobornaya Ploshchad please refer to the map given as one of the hostels images.

Most of the buses from the train station (the bus stop is next to McDonald's) head towards the city centre.
We advise you take bus #221 or #175 for the following reasons:

#175 has it's last stop at the Sobornaya Ploshchad which makes it impossible to miss the actual stop where you should get off the bus.

#221 on the other hand, passes just next to our hostel so when you find yourself next to the huge church (on Sobornaya Ploshchad) just ask the driver to let you out on street where we are located (Koblevska Street)

Bus #124, again get off at the Sorbanaya Ploschad (the Cathedral). Koblevskaya is opposite the front steps of the church

From the AIRPORT:

Bus #117 will take you directly to Sobornaya Ploshchad

*Majority of the buses will cost around 2 Hryvnia

** If you decide to take a TAXI please be aware of predatory tourist prices
Acceptable prices are as follows:

From the train station:
30-40 Hryvna (3-4 Euro)
From the airport:
Taxis are extortionate from the airport
Be prepared to pay a minimum of 100 Hryvna, up to 150 Hryvna depending on the time of day.
