World's 2nd biggest city - Mexico City, Mexico

Mexico City; the second biggest city in the world, therefore a thousand places to visit and have fun! Mexico is well known for its amazing food and tequila.  When visiting Mexico City there are places where you -must- go, such as El Castillo de Chapultepec. It was a home of the Mexican Royalty. It is placed above the hill where you can enjoy of an amazing view of the big City, especially the street of Reforma. What used to be the entrance to the castle. It is considered the only castle in America due to its architecture.  The functions of this castle have been many, since a legit castle to military academy, and a presidential palace. As for today, it is a Museum where you can enjoy the classic rooms of the empress consort Carlota, she was the head of the second and last royalty in Mexico. You can also find emblematic items of Benito Juarez, one of the most famous ex-presidents of Mexico.

Right before the castle, you can find the National Museum of Anthropology and History of Mexico. This museum contains very significant pieces from Mexico’s pre-Columbian heritage such as the Stone of the Sun, also knows as the Aztec Calendar Stone.

When visiting Mexico City you can’t miss your trip around Xochimilco. Here you can enjoy a trip in the colorful Gondolas in the Mexican canals while enjoying the typical food, artisans and Mariachi floating by. The environment is very festive, full of colors and of course, Mariachi and Tequila. You can also visit Xochimilco at night, where you can enjoy a more quiet trip while listening to the local horror stories and visiting the haunted dolls island.

Mexico City’s downtown is very vivid. You will always find a lot of people on the streets. Here you can enjoy the local Art and architecture. Walk the main street of Reforma until the statue of The Angel, the emblematic symbol of Mexico City. If you are lucky enough you can find some days that the main street is closed for cars, so that gives you the freedom to enjoy the big buildings of downtown right in the middle of the street. Also, perfect if you’re having a ride in bicycle in the city.

La Condesa is a great place to grab something to eat. Full of colors, restaurants, boutiques, and bars. La Condesa is known for its stylish sidewalks cafes. Number one fans? Hipsters! At night the streets fill up with younger vibes. Plenty people come to visit the chic bars and enjoy tasty cocktails, or the well known “Caballitos” de Tequila or Mezcal (shots).

One of the most iconic symbols of Mexico is of course the Mexican Pyramids. About two hours away from the city you will find the Pyramid of the Sun and the Moon in Teotihuacan.

The pyramid of the Sun is very impressive. It is one of the tallest in Mesoamerica. And as for today is still possible to climb it, so take your sneakers and prepare to enjoy the 238 steps of the pyramid. Once at the top you will enjoy the amazing panoramic view which contains the pyramid of the moon and the ancient city of Teotihuacan. Coming down the pyramid you’ll be ready to have a typical mexican dish. As a fun fact Mexican food is considered intangible heritage of mankind so you can imagine how amazing and rich mexican food is! Mexico is very big, so basically every city has its own typical food, but nationally known food are Chiles rellenos, enchiladas, mole and of course, Tacos! Just to name some. As for the most famous one in Mexico City is the Torta de Tamal.
