Rimini is reknown as an ideal summer holiday destination for its beaches, vibrant nightlife and ideal position on the Romagnolo Coast. However, the town itself also offers a myriad of Roman and Byzantine history. Postwar reconstruction has ensured that sites of historical significance have been well-preserved. If you can tear yourself away from the beach long enough, some points of interest include the Arco d'Augusto, Piazza tre Martiri, the narrow alleyways of Borgo San Giuliano adn the Roman Amphiteatre.
