Description

The Deer Park Inn is the only budget guesthouse style accommodation in the Nara World Heritage area. Enjoy a short walk to Todaiji Temple, Kasuga Grand Shrine or simply relax in the beautiful, lush surroundings of Mount Wakakusa, all right on our doorstep. A unique chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take time to spend a few days surrounded by nature and history. With over a thousand wild deer roaming through the park you will always find company whatever you decide to do!

Situated at the foot of Mount Wakakusa in a newly renovated Japanese house with brand new shared shower rooms. Many of our private rooms have views over the park and the primeval forest with the wooden furnishings giving the guesthouse a relaxed, mountain lodge feel. Facilities include free WiFi, Internet Space, shared lounge and kitchen with microwave and cooker.

Directions

30 minutes walk from Kintetsu Nara Station. 45 minutes on foot from JR Nara Station. It is convenient to take a bus from the stations, however the last bus to our nearest bus stop 'Kasuga-taisha Honden' is around 16:30. We suggest to take the one bound for 'Daibutsuden Kasuga-taisha Mae' after that it is a 15 minute walk to the guesthouse. There are some street lights in the Nara park area although it gets quite dark after sunset. We recommend you arrive before sunset so as not to be surprised by the deer in the darkness. Please also note that there are no supermarkets or shops within Nara Park. It is best to buy food and drink while you are still in the town area especially if you wish to cook in our guesthouse.

There is some seasonally limited bus running in Nara Park.
First of all, You shoud ask about it at the tourlist infomation center in the stations.
The Bus is coming to the south gate of Mt.Wakakusa.
The name of bus stop is 'WAKAKUSAYAMA SANROKU'


From Bus stop 'Kasuga-taisha Honden'

1. Please go out the bus and car parking area from the entrance which the bus come in.
2. Walk straight shortly, turn right immediately after crossing a small bridge.
3. After about 1mins walk, turn left.
4. Go up the way of staires shortly, we are on your right side.


From Bus stop 'Daibutsuden Kasuga-taisha Mae'

1. Please go back to the intersection with traffic signals.
2. Turn right and walk straight about 10 mins along the uphill road which going to the recesses of the Nara Park.
3. Turn right immediately after crossing a small bridge.
3. After about 1mins walk, turn left.
4. Go up the way of staires shortly, we are on your right side.


By 'Taxi'

It cost you 1300 JPY from JR Nara Staton.
It cost you about 1000 JPY from Kintetu Nara Station.
