Uplands Centre Hostel is located at Changanyikeni area on Observation Hill, near to the University of Dar es Salaam (The Hill), opposite to the Eastern Africa Statistical Training Centre (Takwimu).

The high altitude compared to its surroundings enables it to enjoy the cool breezes of the Indian Ocean from the east.

It has twenty-eight self-contained rooms with two beds each. We provide meals per order in our restaurant and, for your safety, have security arrangements with a professional security firm.

Taxi charge from the airport to the hostel is Tshs. 30,000 (around USD 20). If you prefer to take public transport (Daladala), take a daladala from the airport to Ubungo Daladala stand, at a cost of Tshs. 300. Then ask for a daladala to Changanyikeni village, drop at the EASTC (Statitics) bus stand and ask for the Uplands Centre Hostel nearby. The cost is also Tshs. 300.
