Description

Welcome to the wonderful world of Bamboo Rio Hostel, situated near the world famous Copacabana beach, the liveliest and coziest place in the 'Marvelous City'.

Seven years down the road allows us to look back and say that with each day guests soon become friends and we never hesitate in going out of our way to make their time with us unforgettable! What helps us stand apart is our staff: cordial and friendly, always ready to help in any way possible.

Our location is unbeatable! In Copacabana, just 3 blocks away from the most famous beach in the city and surrounded by bars, restaurants, ATMs, supermarkets and a subway station. Our hostel is located next to a mountain on a quiet street with 24h security. This way we combine the convenience and excitement of a busy metropolis and the peacefulness and security of our establishment with an incredible view of a forest. Here you will discover why Rio is known as the 'Marvelous City'.

We offer everything you should expect from a first rate hostel. All our rooms are well kept. There is also a variety of private rooms. Our facilities include a pool and a barbecue area, a fully equipped guest kitchen, our very own Boom Bar and the indispensible Mountain Lounge adjacent to the forest that surrounds the hostel.

If you're looking for a place to chill and relax, this is the place to be. We are located on a quiet and safe street where our noisiest neighbours are monkeys hanging around in the woods behind us. With luck you get to see other wildlife animals around as well.

If you're looking for a place to party, this too is the place to be. Bamboo Rio Hostel is partnered with one of the biggest events production company in Rio. Tickets to the biggest parties and raves in town are offered here and some of the times, for FREE! We have special discounts for partnered bars, gyms and other establishments. We offer the best of what's going on in town and with us you have an open channel with the local youth.

We value your money more than any other hostel, offering you the best tours in town for the best prices! To top it all off, the ladies get a free Caipirinha on your first night! Not to mention a delicious breakfast, speedy wireless internet and more, all for FREE!

Win a free night for periods longer than 10 days in one of our dorms!

Directions

Let us know when you are arriving so you can use our airport / bus station transfer services.

From the International Airport:

The best and easiest option is to take a taxi. Depending on the time, it should cost around R$60. Be careful with taxis that overcharge! Either ask to go on the meter or don't pay more than R$70. Were on the right corner with street Rua Tonelero, right after street Rua Santa Clara and right before the tunnel. Go down street Rua Lacerda Coutinho until you reach number 45. There are instructions for the driver at the end to be printed out (in portuguese).

A cheaper option is the Real bus. Walk out of the arrivals lounge, take a right past the waiting taxis and look for the airport bus stop. It costs around R$8 and the driver speaks english. It goes along street Barata Ribeiro. Ask to stop near street Rua Santa Clara. Walk up street Rua Santa Clara and turn left after street Rua Tonelero on to Rua Lacerda Coutinho. Its a small street. Were number 45.

From the Bus Station:

Again the best and easiest option is to take a radio taxi from just outside the bus station. You pay a fixed fee at the counter. Again, be careful with taxis that overcharge! Either ask to go on the meter or don't pay more than R$35. Were on the right corner with street Rua Tonelero, right after street Rua Santa Clara, and right before the tunnel. Go down street Rua Lacerda Coutinho until you reach number 45. There are instructions for the driver at the end to be printed out (in portuguese).

Another option is to take the Real bus from in front of the bus station. Its cheaper but takes longer. It costs about R$8 and the driver speaks english. Walk past the taxi rank just outside the station and wait for the bus at the opposite side of the road. They run every 15 minutes and will stop on the main beach road of Copacabana, Avenida Atlntica. Ask to stop at Hotel JW Marriott or at street Rua Santa Clara. Walk up street Rua Santa Clara and turn the first left after street Rua Tonelero onto Rua Lacerda Coutinho. Its a small street. Were number 45.

Alternatively, walk over to the other side of the station and walk across the road, past the taxis, and catch any bus to 'Copacabana', most of which run along street Rua Barata Ribeiro. Ask to stop at street Rua Santa Clara. Walk up this street (Rua Santa Clara) in the direction of Rua Tonelero one block and turn the first left after you pass Street Rua Tonelero onto Rua Lacerda Coutinho. Its a small street. Were number 45.
