Description

Ashfield House is Dublin's most centrally located hostel. We're just one minute's walk to Trinity College, Temple Bar and O'Connell Street as well as bus stops to the airport, ferry terminal, Guinness Storehouse and Heuston Station.

All rooms are ensuite, from private rooms to our multi-bedded rooms. Breakfast is included and consists of cereal, toast, yoghurt, tea, coffee, juice and sometimes eggs, fruit and muffins.

We have free guided walking tours of Dublin city every day, plus a ton of other free stuff, such as free Wi-Fi (lobby only), free luggage storage at reception and free city maps and guides. There's also safety deposit boxes and Internet terminals (small fee), an international payphone, drink and snack machines and a fully-equipped kitchen.

We're open 24/7, with a great check-out time of 11.30am on Saturdays and Sundays.

Best of all, we've got a lift so you don't have to drag your luggage up and down stairs.

Please note that children under 16 are not permitted to sleep in shared dorms.

Please note that when making a booking for a dormitory that we will try to keep your group together but we cannot guarantee that your group will all be in the same room.

***From Dublin Airport:
Coming from the airport you can catch the express bus, the local public bus or take a taxi to the city centre.

Airlink Express Bus (Dublin Bus Routes 747 & 748):
When you arrive at Dublin airport arrivals hall various buses are located outside the main arrival hall doors. For most routes, the stop you are looking for is OConnell Street ask the driver to let you know when the bus has arrived here. When you reach OConnell Street cross to the south side of OConnell Bridge and continue to walk towards Trinity College, keeping on the left-hand side of the street. Ashfield House is about 50 meters/yards up on the left-hand side.
Services depart the airport from 05h45 23h30 at 10/20 minute intervals; 6.00 single, 3.00 for under 16s.

Aircoach:
When you arrive at Dublin airport you can take the Aircoach bus from outside of the terminal building. The stop you are looking for is OConnell Street; ask the driver to indicate when you have arrived.

Route 16A:
When you arrive at Dublin airport- take the bus located outside of the main Arrivals hall on your left side (the last stop). Get off at Upper OConnell Street and follow the directions as above.
Mon Sat: 06h50 23h10, Sunday: 07h40 22h20, approximately every 20 minutes.

Route 41, 41A, 41B, 41C:
Take the bus directly from outside terminal building. Get off at Eden Quay - walk towards OConnell Bridge and follow the directions as above.
Mon-Sat: 06h25 23h30, Sunday: 07h30- 23h15

Note: for Routes 16A, 41, 41A, 41B, 41C, standard Dublin bus fares applies (2.65 adult). Exact fare is needed for the bus; notes are not accepted and change is not returned.

By Taxi:
Taxis are available from the forecourt on the Arrivals level. The approximately cost of a taxi to Ashfield House is 30 (however this depends on traffic and the time of the day).

***From Connolly Train Station or Busaras (Central Bus Station):
If you are travelling from Busaras or Connolly Station, you can walk to our hostel (about 10 minutes walk).

On Foot:
Exiting Connolly Station on to Amiens Street you will see Busaras, the central bus station. From Busaras, head southwest on Frenchman's Lane toward Moland Place. Turn left at Lower Gardiner Street. Slight right at Beresford Place (you will see the beautiful Custom House building on your left hand side). Cross the bridge and turn right at George's Quay/N11. Continue along the quays towards OConnell Bridge. Turn left at D'Olier Street, and at about 50 meters/yards is Ashfield House on your left.

By Bus:
Take the 151 or 128
By Taxi: Traveling by taxi could cost you approximately 7 depending on traffic.

***From Heuston Station:
By Tram (LUAS):
This is the easiest way. Take the tram at Heuston Station and get off at Abbey St Luas Stop. Then walk back a minute to find OConnell Street and turn left and walk towards
OConnell Bridge and follow the directions above.

By Bus:
Take the no. 90 (1.65)
By Taxi: There is a taxi rank located outside the train station. Taking Taxi from Heuston Station will cost approximately 15 depending on traffic and number of passengers.

***From Dublin Port (North Wall):
By Bus:
Take the public bus outside of the main building; Route 53 runs to the city centre (Busaras). Buses are scheduled to coincide with the ferry timetable.

By Taxi:
A taxi from here will cost approximately 20 depending on traffic. It can be quite difficult to get a taxi from the ferry port when a large number of passengers travel.

***From Dun Laoghaire Ferryport:
Take the DART to Tara St station, turn left when you exit the station, keeping the River Liffey on your right hand side. When you arrive at OConnell Bridge, turn left into DOlier St and at about 50 meters/yards is Ashfield House on your left.
